Cloudland Canyon State Park, GA
My dad was able to convince mom to let us go away on a little camping trip. Just the two of us, men doing manly shit. We headed to the Northwest corner of the state to Cloudland Canyon State Park.
We hiked into the canyon down to the waterfalls. Which included the 600 stairs down and back up. An amazing part of the country. Neither of us could believe that this place was in Georgia.
Our campsite was about a 1/4 mile walk from the parking. We hauled in all of our supplies for the night and morning. Ate lunch, then headed in. I can’t be positive, but I’m pretty sure this is where they filmed the Disney movie “Bambi.”
After the hike out and back to the site, it was wood cutting and chopping time. Prepping the fire then some hot dawgs, beers and rum. The night was cold. Close to 32˚. Woke up close to 7:15 and broke down the site and made a mountain man breakfast on the Coleman stove.
