The Macrophenomenal Pro Basketball Almanac

Basketball is back—with the Cavs losing by 5 to Boston (next time)—and my excitement for the game of high-flying elegance is back in full effect. That said, I’ve been carousing the internets for all sorts of NBA/basketball related design, more about that later. Yesterday I came across the book from the authors of FreeDarko, a blog for the NBA, The Macrophenomenal Pro Basketball Almanac. The book is amazingly illustrated by Jacob “Big Baby Belafonte” Weinstein. To accomany the book, there are limiteded edition prints of selected illustrations. Even if you’re not a basketball fan, this book looks like one to keep on the shelves for illustration and design inspiration. Inside, there is a comparision of Tim Duncan’s career stats to the fibonacci grid. I’ll be picking up a copy during my daily lunch break I just read the fine print, it releases November 11th.
